Walking Gaiters

Walking Gaiters
Need a pair of hiking or walking gaiters? I hike in Joshua Tree National Park and Death Valley National Park relatively frequently, as well as other spots in the Southwest U.S. that are dry, dusty, and sandy. A pair of walking gaiters sure comes in handy to keep out the dust and dirt!

I use my walking gaiters to keep out the sand and little rocks that can get to be quite aggravating inside my boots. These work very well and I use them with low top hiking boots as well as higher top boots.

These can also be used in non-desert conditions if you just want to make sure that dirt, mud, bugs and debris can’t find their way inside your boots.

I’ve found that the shoe-string type tie that holds the gaiters in place tend to wear quickly, so be sure to have an extra set in your pack if you’re taking these walking gaiters with you on a sandy adventure!

Hi Kim! Thanks for the positive feedback! You made my day :).
I do like my trail running/walking gaiters, but don’t use them all that often. I find that they are best in sandy environments, and I tend to hike in the mountains. If you hike in dusty or sandy areas frequently then I’d be wearing mine all the time!

Hi! I’m enjoying your site tremendously…lotsa great info on hiking, snowshoeing & trail running, all of which I enjoy where I live in the alpine desert of Northern Nevada!

I was wondering abt trail running gaiters … I’m seeing a lot of fellow trail runners with thin, nylon gaiter-type of covers over their shoes. Any thoughts on these?
