A Durable Winter Boot

What is an affordable, high quality snowshoeing or winter boot? The Kamik Sutton‘s are a good answer!

For a fraction of the cost of mountaineering boots, the Kamik Sutton‘s are a warm, waterproof pair of boots that I wear when walking around in snow and slush, snowshoeing, or heading to the ski slopes.

Features that I like:

  • Waterproof! These winter boots are definitely waterproof! I took them out on several snowshoe outings, and my socks and feet definitely stayed dry. The rubber bottom definitely kept moisture out, and the seams are sealed well.
  • Comfortable. Most winter boots are pretty heavy, and these are no exception. However, they are lighter weight than other pairs I’ve tried, partly due to the fact that they come up mid calf instead of even higher up.
  • Warm. The Kamik Sutton’s are rated to be comfortable to -25 degrees Fahrenheit, conditions that I haven’t had a chance to be in (luckily!) this winter. In +20 degree F conditions the boots kept my feet warm after a few hours of wear. They are lined with Thinsulate material, which is comfortable, and also cozy.
  • Affordable. They cost about $80, which is far cheaper than many other brands on the market such as Columbia Omni Heat winter boots.

For snowy conditions, I really like my Kamik Suttons!
