Fenix, the well-known flashlight company, has a palm sized 3.5 inches long (6.5 centimeters) flashlight called the Fenix E05.
I’ve been testing out the Fenix 05, and determined that it is an excellent pocket flashlight for hikers and backpackers.
When buying a flashlight, there are several features to evaluate:
- Lumens
- Battery type
- Size
- Weight
The specs of the Fenix 05
- Lumens: Ranges from 8 to 85, depending on the setting. 85 lumens is quite bright for a flashlight of this size!
- Battery type: The Fenix 05 takes one AAA battery, and it can be an Ni-MH (for a longer runtime) or Alkaline.
- Size: A tiny flashlight like this one can fit into the smallest of pockets. It is just 2.6 inches long with a 0.6 diameter, so it can fit into anyone’s hand.
- Weight: 0.4 ounces excluding the battery
