Massdrop Fitsok – High Performance Socks at a Low Price

Hikers all know how expensive technical socks can be. Smartwool, Injinji, Balega, Wrightsock, and others are typically priced between $10 and $25 PER pair! That sure adds up. Luckily there is a new sock that Massdrop is offering at very low prices – Massdrop Fitsocks. 3 pairs are just $19.99. Some of you may already know Fitsok – they are well known for their American made running socks, Massdrop has partnered with Fitsok to develop the Massdrop Fitsok Merino Hiker socks. Read on to find out what I think about Massdrop Fitsoks!

Performance and Quality

First off, you should know that Massdrop collaborated specifically with Fitsok to make a sock that would be ideal for ultralight hikers. From my testing, they feel lightweight, supportive, and comfortable.

Here are some features:
Massdrop Fitsok

Specs:

  • Materials: 58% Merino Wool, 40% Nylon, 2% Lycra
  • Length: Ankle length
  • Cuff: Specially designed “Rib Cuff” that helps prevent the sock from slipping down
  • Cushioning/Support: Strategically placed cushioning around the toe, heel, and Achilles. Lighter mesh weave in the rest of the sock helps improve breathability

Sounds good, huh? Check out the “drop” on Massdrop if you’re up for trying out the Massdrop Fitsoks (heck, the price is unbeatable).

What is Massdrop?!

For those of you who don’t know Massdrop, they are a San Francisco based group purchasing site, where community members can discuss the best gear, vote on what they want to see “dropped” in price, then buy products at a highly discounted price. Pretty cool, huh!? The best part is that you sign up for free (no catches – I know since I’ve done it myself), and join the “communities” of interest to you. Obviously, I joined the “Outdoors” and “Ultralight” Hubs.

Hope this is helpful because I want all of you to get great deals! The only thing better than hiking is finding great deals on hiking gear!

Happy trails!
