Fall is my favorite season, and it is a wonderful time to hike and enjoy the beauty of leaves changing color, shorter days, and more moderate temperatures. It also means wearing more layers.
One item that every hiking lady needs to have is a fleece…they are lightweight, can pack down small, and provide loads of warmth. My all time favorite is The North Face Denali fleece jacket, however, The North Face has cut back on some quality in the last few years and the prices are extremely high! The new version of the jacket is made with fewer zippers and no longer has special features like the arm pit vents that I love so much in my 10 year old Denali Jacket.
For those of you looking for a low cost fleece, Freecountry’s new Fawn Fleece may be a great option. We’ve been putting it to the test, and at a price of $49.00 it is hard to beat. The fleece material is especially soft and cuddly, making it the perfect option for a long day hike as well as nuzzling up by a fire afterwards. 😉
Specs:
- Price: $49; available at Freecountry.com.
- Sizes: Women’s S to XL. We’ve been testing the Small and it fits like a solid size 4. If you’re a 4 Petite the small may be a bit too large for you.
If you are budget conscious and want a fashionable and functional fleece this Fall, the Freecountry Fawn Fleece is it!
