Win A Solar Powered Charger!

Bushnell SolarWrap Mini

Bushnell has been very kind to offer one Hiking Lady reader a chance to win their new Bushnell SolarWrap Mini, a light and small device that collects solar energy that can charge your devices using a USB port!

The PowerSync SolarWrap Mini from Bushnell Outdoors is the lightest and smallest personal solar device on the market. At just 3.1 ounces and deployable to 18โ€ of solar panel, the Mini offers solar performance in a size and weight never before available.

Once unfurled, the amorphous thin film solar panel stores solar energy on the on-board lithium-ion battery. Users can use that collected energy to charge virtually anything that can be charged via USB, including GPS devices, action cams, smartphones and tablets.

Just write a short comment below and you’ll be entered. Thanks Bushnell! Be sure to become a “Fan” of the Bushnell Outdoors Facebook page!

Winner will be chosen March 31, 2014. Good luck!

Happy trails!

Update: 4/1/2014:

Would be great when I start the AT this year. I plan to do it solo, so this would help relieve the anxiety of my family, ensuring that I am able to have my phone charged so i can keep them updated.

We still have snow everywhere here, but I can’t wait to get out canoe camping in Algonquin Park, Ontario ASAP! I’ve even added a bug shelter to my gear so that I can reduce bug stress and get out there even if the bugs are biting.

Wow, this would definitely be very useful! I like to track all my hikes in order to challenge myself from year to year but find that on those longer hikes, the GPS runs out before I do. And that’s even with turning off everything except the GPS on the phone.

I just backpacked the Withlacoochie Forest and my phone died. If there was an emergency I would have been in BIG trouble! I thought about that Bushnell Solar Wrap the entire trip and how great it would have been if I had one. It seems to me the Solar Wrap would be a major lifesaver.

    Dear Hiking Lady and Bushnell,

  33. Drew Haney says:

This would be great because I use my phone as a GPS for playing golf and my power outlet in my truck doesn’t work. My phone is almost dead by the time I’m done playing, I could just lay this on the dash and be ready to charge my phone back up just in-case something should go wrong on the way home, I would have a way to contact someone without the fear of my phone dying.

  34. Deb Duvall says:

This is great since I like to use my phone for other things while hiking, info music etc. I like how it rolls out!

This would be AWESOME. I do quite a bit of hiking and have to just let my phone or Ipod just run out of juice. It would be great to be able to contact folks in an emergency, or know that in a pinch I could use my cell phone while I am out there (as I am no spring chicken). Please Bushnell – hook me up! ๐Ÿ™‚
