I love hiking but I am new to backpacking- first time last weekend in Ocala National Forest, and this little device would be helpful in more ways than one, especially for emergencies. I think I need it, I know I want it! ๐Ÿ™‚

While this is awsome for the obvious reasons, emergencies while on the trail, camping, or paddling! im pretty sure the best reason to have this would be the endless hours of annoying my co-workers whith my sporatic music selection, no more will they rejoyce when my battery runs out! muahahaha

Currently deployed to Afghanistan this is perfect for long convoys! My iPhone usually doesn’t make all day this would definitely keep it charge while on patrol! Or on guard duty! Thank you hiking lady! Greeting from Afghanistan!!

I am starting a 400+mile bike ride across country in September and I use my iPhone (mounted on my handlebars) for EVERYTHING when I’m Cycling on the road (GPS, routes, music, contact, ride/weather updates) but I’ve always had trouble keeping it charged while on my long journeys. This is the answer for all my iPhone charging problems! Thanks Hiking Lady for this great chance to win such a precious piece of technology!

    1) I left my job for a more adventurous life camping/on the road!

If I had the Solar iCharge then I could keep using the RunKeeper app (for tracking route/distance/elevation gain/calories burned) for very long hikes! Right now my battery runs out after about 4 hours. Would love to be able to track longer hikes – thank you!

I didn’t get the GPS gene when I was born, hence I lose my jeep on parking lots and get confused when hiking poorly marked trails. Just yesterday I used the map feature on my phone to figure out where I was after making a wrong turn. Using my phone map increases my safety on the trail. Having a solar charger would be awesome!

  25. Lovena H. says:

The portability of this charger would def be handy to have on trail while hiking, on the cliffside rock climbing, or on frozen waterfalls while ice climbing! Thanks for the the contest Hiking Lady!
