The Columbia Omni Dry Silver Ridge III Long Sleeve Shirt is one of the few feminine cut tops I’ve found that not only looks great but does a superb job of providing sun protection, with a UPF 30 rating.
I wear mine year round. Most recently I wore it on an early spring hike, layered with my fleece vest on top.
When I’m out hiking, I want to protect my skin from the sun, but also stay cool on hot days. Despite this top being long-sleeve, it has excellent ventilation, so I stay dry even on the hottest of summer days.
Plus, it is highly durable. While hiking among the rocks in Joshua Tree National Park, my Omni Dry top suffered some abuse as I squeezed among rocky slabs, but continues to hold up well. I’ve washed mine many times, and the colors and fabric are still in good shape.
The best part is that is comes in several colors, so you can pick the one that looks best on you. It doesn’t stand up to as much abuse as the ExOfficio Insect Shield Womens Shirt, but not everyone is rock scrambling and scraping against granite boulders while being attacked by mosquitoes!
