Hiking Lady’s Yosemite: A Photographic Journey

Yosemite is one of the most amazing places I have ever traveled to. No wonder Yosemite is such a popular national park and has influenced writers and artists for years, inspired the sport of rock climbing, and brings peace to those who gaze upon its natural beauty.

The magic of Yosemite!

In John Muir’s words: “As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.”

I just recently returned from a trip to Yosemite National Park, and hope that a few photo highlights will inspire you to plan your own Yosemite adventure!

This brings back memories… I worked in Yosemite after high school for a year. My favorite times were during thunderstorms with the sound bouncing off the walls…. And full moon nights with the light on the rock. I’ll be getting back there soon! (Preferably during a full moon to start)

Thanks John! Apparently the 5 million pound slab that fell off of Half Dome in July 2015 is now just dust! It is amazing to think that no one even noticed it for days…it must have happened during the rain storm. From what I learned from rangers, there are over 60 rock falls a year in Yosemite Valley alone.

Goodness your photos are great. They cause me to smell the cool pine scented morning air and feel the warm afternoon sunny breeze and the course texture of granite rocks. The west has so much to offer; Yosemite is the epitome of that. Thanks for taking me (and others) on the trail with you.

Reckon what happened with the missing part of el capitan? And the other rocks as well, and what caused them to break?
