Bill Bryson’s story, A Walk in the Woods, is hitting the big screen this Fall! With a leading line-up of stars including Robert Redford, Emma Thompson, and Nick Nolte, it should be as funny and interesting as the book.
Setting out to hike the Appalachian Trail with his old buddy, Bill Bryson (Robert Redford in the movie), paints a vivid story that is enjoyable to read. Clearly a novice backpacker as the story begins, Bryson sets out on the journey of a lifetime. In the book, he interweaves an eye opening look at how the American wilderness is at risk. Perhaps this will be included in the movie as well, even though the movie trailer focuses more on comedic scenes.
2015 seems to be the year of the thru-hiking movies: Wild, starring Reese Witherspoon came out earlier this year, telling Cheryl Strayed’s Pacific Crest Trail thru-hiking story. Now we all have A Walk in the Woods to look forward to! 🙂
Happy trails!
Thank you for the heads up about the movie Hiking in the Woods. I’m looking forward to see it.
