-John Lubbock, British archaeologist and biologist, 19th century
The Best Teacher: Nature
“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.”
Thanks for sharing Ashley! Happy trails!
Actually, this quote has wide meaning nowadays. John Lubbock, British was actually a banker, but his contributions to archaeology and biology are admirable and remarkable. It reminds me another quote from John Muir ” Mountains are calling, I must go.”
No doubt, we are so lucky to live on a planet where these legends footprints are still there.
Isn’t that the truth? We all spend too much time glued to our computers!
So true! Love this quote HL. Thanks for sharing. Now lets get off this computer and back outside!
What a lovely saying. Thanks for finding this and sharing it with us.
