A Website I Like: Hit the Trail!

Last month I started a new feature highlighting one of my favorite blogs each month! I hope you enjoyed checking out Gear Talk with Jason Klass last month.

This month my pick is Hit the Trail, a website focused on travel to the Grand Canyon and the Southwestern U.S. The site is run by Denise Travers, a former backcountry ranger at Grand Canyon and field instructor for the Grand Canyon Field Institute. She has a wealth of knowledge, and does an excellent job of sharing it on her website.

Hit the Trail

Some of the features of Hit the Trail I really like are the site’s wonderful slide shows that capture the breathtaking beauty of the American Southwest, as well as the informative sections about wildlife and geology. When I hike I really enjoy knowing at least the basics of the area’s history, geology, and flora and fauna.

There is a lot to learn on Hit the Trail about the wildlife of the southwest, the geology of the Grand Canyon, and the history of the American Southwest!

Enjoy! I hope you enjoy this website as much as I do.
