In the last decade we’ve seen some amazing enhancements in apparel technology – from moisture elimination and wicking abilities, compression workout clothing to help with muscle recovery, to breathable waterproofing…and now odor eliminating technology!
I was asked by Agion Technologies, the company behind this new odor free technology, if I’d be willing to try out a t-shirt that was treated with their odor technology. Half of the shirt was treated with Agion Active, and the other half was untreated.
As they recommended, I “pushed the shirt to the limits” and wore it for 2 very long and hot trail runs this past weekend. We’ve had some very hot weather in Southern California , and with midday 85 degree + temperatures I’d call it a fair test!
When I got home I did the sniff test – the front of the shirt had no odor, but the back reeked! eeww! It worked!
According to the company, the Agion Active technology is environmentally friendly :), and uses a patented formula to control odor that is caused by microbial growth. I often find that my wicking baselayers tend to have a fair amount of odor after long trail runs and hikes, so I would love to see this technology adopted by the market.
The company is trying to get the word out, so if you want to try a free t-shirt treated with Agion Active you can request one on their website. Plus, they are giving away an Outdoor Adventure Vacation for 2 for the person who is voted to have done the most extreme testing.
Yes, the t-shirt was wicking too! 🙂 I tend to sweat a lot too so I always look for wicking apparel. Thanks for your question.
That’s great about the odor, but I was a little unclear about the wicking. Was the T-shirt wet or not? I tend to sweat a lot and come back looking like I’ve been swimming instead of biking or hiking. Please explain. Thanks.
