Into the Wild is a great movie based on Jon Krakauer’s bestselling book!
It has become quite a controversial story – some people enjoy the protagonist’s independence, and his willingness to abandon social norms and live in the wild.
Others say that Christopher McCandless was irresponsible. Was Christopher McCandless a reckless young man or was he on a greater journey?
What do you think?
You can read my thoughts in my full review of Into the Wild.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the trailer here:
He was a spoiled rotten, pie in the sky, rose colored glasses wearing fool. It was sad to see such an obviously highly intellegent young man DIE because of his inadiquate survival training was ignored in favor of his “free spirit” attitude. Died. What a shame.
The movie has some great vistas of Alaska, but when I watched it I was so frustrated with the main character. His cavalier but naive approach is a lesson to us all, and help us to remember to respect nature at all times.
The kid was a retard. Anybody who ever hiked at least a single trail at a Nat Park will tell you that.
