National Public Lands Day: Saturday, September 26, 2009

Did you know that Saturday, September 26 is National Public Lands Day? This year is the 16th annual celebration and reason for all of us to get outside and volunteer to improve our public lands. National Public Lands Day Last year 120,000 people across America participated in National Public Lands Day, maintaining trails, removing non-native plants, planting trees, and more!

Fun fact from the NPLD website: National forests cover 193 million acres – equivalent to the size of Texas!
