In 1991, the British filmmaker and cameraman Leo Dickinson flew a hot air balloon over Everest. While up just a mile above the peak and overlooking the vast beauty of the Himalayas, he took a snapshot of the view with a 35mm camera. Just this last week (18 years later! ) the original was digitally remastered, and the link below shows what the British press is calling “the best picture on Earth”. I’d have to agree!
