What Knife Do You Take on the Trail?

I’ve recently been testing the Gerber Crucial, a multi-tool that is a compact pocket size, yet heavy tool to take along backpacking.

I’ve used Cold Steel knives in the past, and like their sturdy design. Have you found multi-tools handy on the trail, or do you stick to lighter weight knives to shed extra pack weight?
