Torrey Pines State Reserve in Del Mar is named for the beautiful Torrey Pine trees that decorate the coastal bluffs of the state reserve. Torrey Pines hiking is good for hikers of all levels since there are several half mile to mile long loops through the park. Given the views and well kept trails, trail runners make it part of their regular routine. You’re sure to see a mix of locals getting in their daily runs, families enjoying the coastal breezes and vistas, and hikers who want to experience the coastal trails.
Hiking Trails at Torrey Pines:
- Guy Fleming Trail: Mostly flat.
- Parry Grove Trail: Can be steep, but has beautiful ocean vistas.
- Beach Trail: The most popular trail. You’ll be able to hike down to the sand and dip your toes in the water!
- Broken Hill Trail: Head back from the beach on Broken Hill if you want to see some wildflowers (in spring).
