How Do I Attach My Trekking Poles to My Backpack?

ANSWER:

Your hiking poles would need to be telescoped down (completely collapsed), and then stored in the side pockets on the Gregory Maya pack. I generally keep the handle side in the bottom of the pocket, with the pole tips facing upward. Then you can cinch the straps on the side of the pack to hold the poles in place. Alternatively, you could always get an accessory cord to wrap around the poles or through the pole handle loops, then attach to the back of your pack.

On day hiking trips I tend to stow my poles on the uphill, then use them for the entire downhill portion of the hike.
