I’m so happy to have found your site! I agreed to a through-hike of the Colorado Trail next summer, and I have never backpacked! I have a lot to learn and a lot of training to do in the next nine months. Thanks so much for making this resource available for newbies like me.

  3. Joss says:

Because when you’re trying to save weight and carry a smaller pack, using compression sacks can add a little extra space.

  4. Brenda Brackmann says:

I could use help organizing my “stuff” in my backpack. This would be a big help in that department.

  5. KCA says:

I’m back into hiking after several years absence and introducing two young neighbors to the joys of being outside hiking. Slowly but surely I’m getting gear and the GobiGear compression bag would be a great addition + show the young kids the value of investing in quality gear and taking care of it. I feel lucky I found Hiking Lady. It’s a great site and resource.

  6. Cheryl says:

Oh man, I need one of those! I hike as a guide every day and many times I have to cram other’s things into my pack as well. I am always looking for a way to better organize my pack and make more room.

    Thanks for the chance!

I’m a hiker but no so much a backpacker (yet). I do travel a lot with limited room for my gear. The GobiGear Compression Bag would be fantastic when we travel in our airplane with just a small luggage compartment or when I’m travelling to a hot air balloon event in my pickup truck and I have to store all luggage in the back seat along with the dog. I try to travel light but end up turning my duffle bag inside out trying to find anything. I need organization!

  8. Andra says:

I have recently taken up backpacking and slowly buying good gear to make for enjoyable adventures. I have lots to learn about what gear to take and how to pack it. On my list of what I need to still buy is a compression sack and this lightweight one is exactly what I need!

  9. kathy linville says:

I’m real picky about the way things are put in my pack but so fr haven’t come up with a great solution, maybe this one really is for me….

I am an outdoor trip leader at at an unnamed university (SEC school), but am a college student so money is tight. I buy most my gear at scratch and dent sales, thats how I got my sleeping bag. I do not have a stuff sack for it. This is PERFECT for my sleeping bag. It would be a nice little treat to make my semester go a little better ๐Ÿ™‚

19 years old. My best friend is a tree, that doesn’t talk back to me, hurt me, or criticize me. He gives the best hugs, although he has no arms. He has a past, like I do. He’s seen stormy days, and survived them. He’s been a great support when I sat down, never leaving me, and always stable. He’s inspired me. Nature is where I find my true self. When the world seems dark and I feel like I can’t make it through, I take a hike. Nature saved me, and I would really like to give back and tell nature thank you. This little pack would be a great way to carry my nature gear, and to make sure it’s safe and protected. I can make a difference…one baby hiking step at a time.

When it comes to packing for hiking trips, I always have to be the one to have all the necessary odds and ends. I always get grief about it because I have the biggest, bulkiest bag! The thing is I can’t pack less because I always pack what others tend to forget, and so I pack extras. With the HoboRoll I could pack all the extras, extra efficiently!

  13. Sherry says:

I have recovered from thyroidt cancer and am working my way towards being a section hiker….time to gear up!

  14. Maggie says:

I’d absolutely love to try one to keep all my backpacking odds & ends organized. I end up leaving the house organized but after the first night of undoing dry bags to find what I want, it’s all a big confusing mess. Haha. Happy trails!

  15. Jeremy says:

Our twins are now 15 months, we have now effectively doubled our load but not our carrying capacity. I would love to tell you that we have adapted the monkey leesh packs to fit all of their gear but sadly it hasn’t worked. We have made longer paracord leeshes for them though. We need the hoboroll so that we keep out growing family. We have two boys and two girls but I pack like girl so I really need all the help like this hoboroll. Thanks for a great way to share, learn, and maybe win cool gear. Thanks

  17. Nancy says:

Looks like a great option for backpacking, but also as an emergency bag for any kind of traveling. I’m starting a niche travel-related site and would love to be able to review the product for my travel gear section (and use it for my own travel, of course).

  18. Stacy Campbell says:

If I win this cool HoboRoll from Gobi Gear, I promise to be a hobo for the rest of my life. OK, not really, but I will sleep in my backyard for a month and pretend. OK, not really but I will take pics of my first ever overnight hike in The Ozarks, then post my pics to my facebook page, and tweet them (label out) to Ellen Degeneres, and Anderson Cooper begging for retweets and LOTS of free publicity for you Hiking Lady AND Gobi Gear! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will also force all of my students to buy your products for A’s. If that didn’t grab ya, then I would dig this bag for my birthday which is Oct. 30th!!

  19. Becci says:

I have fallen in love with my HoboRoll after using it on a couple of Scout outings with my son’s Boy Scout Troop. I think this is the perfect thing to help young Scouts get and stay organized. It would be great to win one for my son, he would be the envy of the rest of his Troop.

  20. Paula says:

I am relatively new to overnight backpacking and still gathering gear which I am finding to be really expensive. This looks like a great product that would fit my needs!

  21. Tara says:

  22. Joanne Calabrese says:

Just getting back into hiking/camping/backpacking as part of my mid-life crisis and would love a HoboRoll to go with my hobo stove.

  23. Johna Worbes says:

A group of us older folks are hiking & camping in the Grand Canyon next March. Wouldn’t this be a great item to have with me?

  24. Winter is soon approaching and I sure could use this on a winter hike to help keep my clothing separated in a backpack. Digging through every piece of gear just to find another layer can be a pain!

  25. annie says:

I’m new to hiking and new to Mont Sainte Anne (quebec) so to explore the area make new friends I’ve been hiking loads! But I have no gear so this would be perfect!

  26. Jessica says:

After searching several hiking websites, I found Hiking Lady to be the easiest to navigate and a very informative website that I plan on telling all my friends about.

My best friend Mandy and I have known each other for 15 years. We are both in the Army and met at our first duty station and have been friends ever since. Each of our travels have continued to cross paths throughout the last 15 years. I even tracked her down in the middle of Baghdad while we were deployed to Iraq. She is the only person I know that I could call up and say, “let’s go on a two week hike” and know she would not hesitate in saying “yes”. We are planning this trip in the spring of next year and have just started purchasing the much needed gear for the adventure. We would love to try out the GobiGear HoboRoll. What a great idea.

  27. Peggy says:

I am a 54 year old diabetic that has recently fallen in love with exercise, particularly hiking. You website has given me the inspiration and motivation I need to lose weight, eat right, and hike! I would love to win this hoboroll because I have very little gear and am just beginning to put together the things I need. Thanks for the work you do to inspire!

  28. Jenn says:

I need one because sometimes my pack and the dog’s pack just isn’t enough “pack”. I mean, two ladies…we have needs!

  29. Christine says:

My partner and I travel around the world often with our bicycles in tow. The bike boxes (even the special ones we got for our S-Coupler bikes) are bulky so we’ve widdled down what we bring otherwise. From Ireland to Colorado to Belgium to South Africa, we bring our bikes wherever we go. This little HoboRoll can be strapped to the bike, my back, or thrown into a backpack pretty easily AND it fits in with the organized, Type-A personality I have. We will be competing in the BC Bike Race in 2013, plan to take our bikes several places before then, and in 2015 will be traveling around the world full-time…by bicycle. I can’t think of a more convenient accessory than this HoboRoll for two self-proclaimed hobos.
