Duracell & Black Diamond Equipment Essentials Backpack

Black Diamond & Duracell packDo you want to know the gear that professionals use? Then look no further than Black Diamond Equipment and Duracell.

After scaling the famous Dawn Wall on Yosemite’s El Capitan earlier this year, free climber Kevin Jorgeson has partnered with Duracell since he always relies on their Quantum batteries.

We have had a chance to check out the Kevin Jorgeson inspired backpack, and it is no surprise that it includes a top quality award winning headlamp, a rugged streamlined backpack, and lots of extra Duracell batteries!

What is in this pack?

  • Black Diamond Bullet 16 Backpack. No expense was spared in making this streamlined high quality backpack. This backpack is designed for climbers, and is also an excellent choice for a hiker’s daypack. I was extremely impressed with its durability! It is made of 1260d ballistic nylon so don’t worry about it tearing if you brush up against granite rock. Inside there is a mesh zippered pocket to keep extra batteries (or other essentials) organized inside the pack as well as a hydration hose port for your Camelbak or other bladder.
  • Black Diamond Icon 320 Lumen Headlamp. This is the latest model of Black Diamond’s Icon headlamp, designed for professionals. It is the most powerful headlamp I’ve ever tested, pumping out 320 lumens. It also has a red night vision mode to protect your night vision, a dimming feature, strobe light, and the very essential lock feature. Don’t worry about a little rain…or a drop in a puddle…the Icon 320 can handle water immersion of 3.3 feet for 30 minutes.
  • Duracell Quantum batteries. Duracell Quantum batteries last longer than other batteries, and have a very helpful PowerCheck power indicator. This is crucial for us outdoor enthusiasts! I hate when batteries die when I’m hiking or backpacking…I always carry backups, but it is much nicer to just use Quantum batteries so I know how much power is left before I head out on the trail.

Why are batteries and a top quality headlamp so important to Kevin Jorgeson? Because he regularly climbs at night when temperatures are cooler. For those of you who do long hikes (like a day hike of Mount Whitney), then you know exactly how important a good headlamp is for an early start on the trail.
