Win a Timeless Classic This Month!

“The reflections of the lost photos” carries for me the most intrigue. Being a photographer I want to know why as much as about the climb itself. Photos support the “story” of the adventure, as truth or fiction or being a story by itself.

It is “the reflections of the lost photos” of the third ascent which carries for me the most intrigue! Being a photographer on all our outdoor challenges I want to know about these as much as the climb….why were they lost since photos seem to support the “story” brought back after the adventure….as either truth or fiction! The wind chills are going to be 60 below zero here in Dakota this weekend and I would love a good book to snuggle down with!

Me and my fiance would love this book. We have watched 180 degrees south about 5 times since first seeing it about 2 months ago. This book would be an amazing addition, and especially perfect to read in my hammock.

I’m going to have my first child this spring. My plan if it was a boy wat to name him Fitzroy, But it’s going to be a girl. Not that this is a bad thing I just don’t have a great mountain name anymore.

  7. Jacob Reed says:

This would be a fantastic read! Thanks Hiking Lady for such a great site and the fun of your monthly contests!

Climbing Fitz Roy will be a welcomed edition to 180 Degrees South and Unexpected on my coffee table!

  9. Andy says:

180° South was a fantastic film—and the photographs and 8mm film clips shown were as inspirational as the narrative itself. I would only expect this book to be equally inspirational.

Raised in Ventura County in the 60’s through 70’s, my later childhood was frequented by weekend outings to the “Iron Works”. Still have one or two items purchased on those Saturday trips.

One of the many wishes I have would be able to climb El Cap but climbing Fitz Roy…WOW..that would be a dream come true. Being able to have this book and looking at the great adventurers who have climbed this majestic mountain is like closing your eyes and imagining your actually there!

  12. JR says:

Cool. I saw the $10 e-book version on Amazon, but that does not seem like a book that would work very well with a Kindle!

  13. Kathy Doran says:

Climbing Fitz Roy would make a great Christmas present for my husband. He loves outdoor adventure books!
