How to Clean Trail Running Shoes

Here I am demonstrating how to clean trail running shoes. My Vasque Blurs were a little dirty and I want to keep the tread clean so I can get the best traction on my runs. Check it out:

Additional tip from Hiking Lady reader Ann:
If your hiking boots or running shoes are very dirty, don’t wash them in the sink! Clean them in a bucket so the dirty, gritty water can be thrown away. Over time small bits of grit and debris collect in the U-bend of the sink and can eventually cause an expensive, smelly plumbing expense!

This is how I clean my hiking boots this time of year! With the snow melting and the ground softening up, it makes for quite a slog through mud!
